![]() That is ages ago in the world of these devices. The iPad 2 was released in 2011, and discontinued in 2014. Unfortunately, it is just inherent in the current state of consumer electronics that devices will not be supported forever. I've said it in other threads on this subject already there is nothing to gain for Sonos by having peoples controller devices no longer work, it is just a choice that is at some point forced upon them. In Android, you can sideload older versions of apps, but without guarantees on functionality. It is Apple that deprecates devices by not providing OS support to older devices, while simultaneously requiring app developers to design for the latest versions, in time breaking backwards compatibility. It’s Apples policy as they do not allow multiple versions of the same app, good luck in finding a system that does not hit this issue.Īgreed. I'm just one unhappy angry disappointed customer. And I bet they will not react to any of what I writing here. I will not spend any more money on this company. It's just too bad but I'm going to change my system for something else. Just changing the policy because Apple does is just negligent, customers are of no interest. I'm still pretty pleased with the quality of the units and their sound but there are just too many irritating things about the software and the company. Try and get to the last number in your playlist. ![]() After the interface of Config changed it became less intuitive, navigating is just a bore. When I skip a song it just stops en the next one start without fade-out/fade-in. When the power goes down groups are not remembered. There's 1 playlist in my system that just doesn't work anymore and I can't seem to be able to delete it. The system is not stable, groups fall apart or players just disappear (and it's not my network that works flawless). One day they just changed the background color to white without an alternative to switch back. I hate the Sonos-team for just too many reasons too. I've got SonoPad but it just doesn't quite cut it. You'll also be able to choose whether to prioritize the volume of the music or a trainer's voice in most Fitness+ workouts. It's ridiculous, I know, but at least you can enjoy using your iPad's and you will be done with the frequent Sonos updates. You can enable a setting that'll let you swipe to change watch faces. Other new Apple Watch features include the ability to automatically view what's Now Playing from a nearby 2nd-gen HomePod or HomePod mini that's playing something from Music or Podcasts. These requests are available in English (US) and Mandarin Chinese for now, with support for more languages to follow. You can also instruct Siri to log data such as your weight, medications that you've taken and your body temperature. You can ask Siri for information on things like how much you slept the night before, your step count and whether you've closed your exercise ring for the day. Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 can now log and access Health app data through Siri (both devices process Siri requests on-device for greater privacy). In addition, Apple is rolling out watchOS 10.2. The Apple Music, Messages and Weather apps are getting a few new features too, while an AutoFill upgrade for PDFs and other forms could prove very useful. You'll now be able to access and log Health data with your voice thanks to a Siri update. As Qi2 chargers become more widespread, it should be easier for both iPhone and Android users to top up their phones' batteries quickly.Įlsewhere, iPhone 15 Pro users can capture spatial video that can be viewed in 3D in Apple Vision Pro's Photos app (once you're eventually able to try out the headset, that is). Qi2-certified chargers are said to match the 15W wireless charging speeds of MagSafe. You could even use it to have a conversation with someone who doesn't speak the same language as you.Īpple is rolling out support for Qi2 charging on all iPhone 13 models and iPhone 14 models (it's already present on iPhone 15 models). You'll be able to set up the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to act as a quick translation tool for spoken phrases. The Journal app isn't all that's new in iOS 17.2. Users will have control over which apps can offer Journal suggestions too. ![]() Apple says the Journal app is end-to-end encrypted and all information is stored locally (though you can sync everything to iCloud if you wish). Third-party developers can tap into a Suggestions API to nudge users to create journal entries based on activity in their apps.
